Dr. Tara Ramachandra, MD
Facial Plastic and Head and Neck Surgeon
Dr. Tara Ramachandra is a double board-certified facial plastic and head and neck surgeon, recognized by her peers on the Castle Connolly Top Doctors list for 2022 and 2023.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Ramachandra earned both her undergraduate degree in biomechanical engineering and her medical degree from Stanford University. She completed residency in otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University, where she gained extensive experience in surgery of the ears, nose, sinuses, and neck. Following residency, Dr. Ramachandra completed a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at Vanderbilt University. During this time, she learned advanced techniques in facial reconstruction, facial trauma surgery as well as cosmetic facial plastic surgery. She then served as clinical fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland before returning to the States to put down roots in her husband’s hometown of St. Louis.
Over the years, Dr. Ramachandra developed a true passion for restoring the face after skin cancer. After lesion removal by her Mohs surgeon colleagues, she repairs defects of delicate facial structures to restore form and function. She has guided hundreds of patients through the process of reconstruction with the kindness, attentiveness, and close follow-up required to achieve excellent results. She performs a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgeries including blepharoplasty, brow lift, scar revision, mole removal, rhinoplasty, and nasal airway reconstruction.
In her free time, she loves traveling, listening to live music, and exploring St. Louis with her husband, two active sons and Golden Retriever.
